What is your professional background?
After graduating from secondary school, I completed a dual degree in industrial engineering at the DHBW in Mosbach. My training partner during my studies was a big electronics company. Afterwards, I finished my Bachelor of Engineering degree and then started at WEISS.
How did you end up at WEISS?
I knew the company because I grew up in the area. I sent my application to WEISS while writing my Bachelor's thesis, so that I could begin right after without any gaps.
What is your area of responsibility?
I work in internal sales and am responsible there for the technical support of our customers. More specifically, I help our customers find out which product is right for them and their needs. I offer the product and advise our customers with their purchase decisions. Customer support takes place primarily over the phone or via email. Sales representatives are also responsible for on-site technical support.
What is the biggest challenge in your work?
It sometimes happens that customers become impatient when things get delayed. In these moments, it is not always easy to remain friendly and calm. On some days, many inquiries and orders arrive at the same time. Then it is a challenge to work on one task after another because the phone rings incessantly. On these kinds of days, it is important not to let the stress get to you.
Why did you choose WEISS as an employer?
I come from this region and I have been regularly commuting during my studies. I also completed a 3-month overseas semester in California. As much fun as it was, I now know that I am a more drawn to the place where I feel most at home. That is why I wanted to live and work again in this region. In addition, WEISS is known as a family business that offers a secure future. Our CEO values his employees and wants to advance the company, instead of only chasing profit. That was very important to me when I chose my employer.
What do you like about your native region?
There is a lot of tranquilly and space here for me and my dog. I can also be in the forest and nature in no time. And when I feel like city life, then I can quickly and easily get to the nearby big cities. Having these opportunities makes life for me here very worthwhile.
What is special about WEISS?
The product variety is particularly special. Our solutions are tailored to the individual requirements of our customers, so that the right offer is found for every customer requirement.
What three terms do you think best describe WEISS?
Growth, teamwork and women's parking area (laughs). At WEISS there is a special women's parking, which I think is really great. It means my colleagues and I don’t have to walk all the way across the large car park when it’s dark in the winter. For me this is a form of appreciation that I find very positive. It’s beginning to get tighter and tighter in this parking area, which means that the proportion of women at WEISS is constantly growing.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I volunteer for the Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft, amongst other things. We teach little ones how to swim, and we train those who want to continue as rescue swimmers.
